Saturday, March 26th, 2011: Our last day & night.

We leave tomorrow at 3:30am.  : (!!  Most of us are debating either staying up all night and going out.. or going to bed early.  I'm not sure which camp I'm in at this point.. but I do know I'm going to make the most of today.  I've got one day to find the best guac in Costa Rica and take pictures of everything.

Taco Tico---- where our group had meals a few times. : )

A mall area we walked around for awhile.

The great English on the shop window.... they also didn't come back until an hour later. : )
After exploring Tamarindo one last time, TG & I decided to take pictures of everything one last time before dinner.

These blue flowers were real next to beautiful lilies.  I had to take a picture so I could research what they were when I got home.

The last guacamole of the night.  TG & I sat around and talked with the bartenders and staff for while as we wound down.
I ended up only making it to 9:30 (though I wanted to stay up all night) and passed out, woke up well rested, already packed, and made my way down to our boxed breakfast and coffee.  I'll miss the fresh fruit of Costa Rica, the breakfast buffets, the weather, the people, the scenery.... the guacamole! : )

The airport at Tamarindo was outdoors on either side of a "building." On one side, we checked in, went through security, and waited on the other side.

The ride home was quick, we made it through customs just in time to get to our next flight and get home... Home sweet home. : )

Friday, March 25th, 2011

We arrived in Tamarindo yesterday evening and ventured out to a local sushi restaurant for an unlimited sushi and drinks special.  The lady who owns it is from Chicago and said she up and moved her life down here and runs the discoteca and sushi restaurant with her husband, while her brother owns a local surf shop.

Today.... is all about relaxing.  We spend a lot of time on the beach. I even fell asleep on a lawn chair in the resort area. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to beach from rooms at a beach front resort after our traveling agency didn't book our rooms at the place we were supposed to stay. All I have to say is... I'm sooo glad they made that mistake! : )  It's nice finally having consistently warm weather, the beach outside of our patio, and an easy-going next few days.

view from our patio.

: )

We stopped for lunch at "Joe's" and had ourselves some fresh guacamole (of course) and met some middle-aged surfers who likes to talk to college-age girls.. lucky for us... they liked to pay for our food and drinks as well.   The food was good, the day was beautiful, and we headed off to explore what tamarindo had to offer before going back to the beach.

The aqua discoteca next to our resort where we found ourselves having sushi, and others in our group found a fun place to stay out until 3 am when we left at 4 on Sunday...

We got some people in our group and went out that night for dinner and drinks.  It's a nice town here... there's probably parts I wouldn't wander to (even if I was in a group), but the majority of the people here are all nice and so passionate about life. I can't wait for another relaxing day tomorrow. : )
